John Lawrence 34, of Waterloo, IA, passed away June 29, 2025. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 505 5th Ave SW, Independence, Iowa, at 12:00 p.m. He was born in Waterloo on January 9, 1991, to Michael Lawrence and Darla Sexton. John grew up in Waterloo and Cedar Falls, Iowa, where he attended school at Cedar Falls High School. Following school, John worked as a roofer. John enjoyed working on cars, fishing, kayaking, going to concerts, and being with his friends. Those left to cherish his memory are his parents Michael (Sherry McGrew) Lawrence and Darla Lawrence; brother Justin Lawrence; uncles Robert Lawrence, Randy Lawrence, and Robert Sexton; aunts Karen Pederson and Robin Scott; many cousins; and close friends. John was preceded in death by his grandparents Barbara and Leroy Lawrence, Joyce Sexton, and Jack Sexton; and his uncle Don Sexton. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
