nard; daughter Michelle Carter of Branson, MO; son Kent (Joann) Tipping of Urbandale, IA; daughter Gina (Nathan) Jordebrek of Ames; seven grandchildren: Conner (Meredith) Tipping, Quinn (Faye) Tipping, Danielle Carter, Kersten (Jack) Daubitz, Lucas Carter, Caitlin Tipping, and Jaxon Jordebrek; four great-grandchildren: Francis Tipping, Doris Tipping, Hadlee Lawrence, and Benjamin Tipping; brother-in law, Ervin (Jan) Tipping of Ashland, OR; sisters-in-law, Gloria Ewing, of Allerton, IA; Charlene Burgin, of Rock Hill, SC; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandson Colin Michael Tipping; her parents Carl and Gladys Ewing; brother Elwood (Woody) Ewing; brothers-in-law, Elton Tipping, Frank White and Ron Burgin; and sisters-in-law Joyce Miller and Leila White. Carleen was a member of the Cornerstone Church of Christ in Zearing, Ames Women's Club, Ames Lions Club, and the Indianola Lioness Club. Carleen was diagnosed with Essential Tremor Disorder nearly fifty years ago, which she lived with gracefully for the remainder of her life. Because she wanted to help others, she chose to donate her body for research. Carleen's celebration of life service will be Saturday, January 25 at 1:30 p.m. at Northcrest Community, 2300 Northcrest Parkway, Ames, Iowa 50010. The family will receive friends after the celebration of life service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Northcrest Foundation or to St. Croix Hospice.
