Stephen E. Young

Stephen E. Young, 71, a resident of Peoria, AZ, passed away on January 24, 2021. He was the husband of Laura Young with whom he shared 28 years of marriage. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the eldest child of Donald and Dolores Young, and after graduating high school, the family moved to Tucson, AZ. Steve joined the Arizona Army National Guard in 1969 and served nearly eight years as a Military Police Officer, obtaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. At the time of his passing, he was employed by Grand Canyon University as a Campus Safety Manager for 16 years. He is survived by his wife, Laura, sons Christopher (Tracie) and Brett (Katie), 8 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Dolores Young. A viewing will be held Friday, January 29, 2021, from 6-8pm at Hansen Mortuary, 8314 N 7th St, Phoenix, AZ 85020. The inurnment will be 10am Monday, February 1, 2021 at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, 23015 Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85024.
