Sue Ann (Truex) Felton, 77, died Sunday, December 20, 2020 in Heritage Pointe, Warren. She was born on March 14, 1943 in Marion, the daughter of the late Charles and Maxine (Heller) Truex-Sanders. Sue graduated from Jefferson Township High School in 1961 and attended two years at Taylor University. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Ball State University in 1965 and later received her Master's in Education from Ball State University. She married the love of her life, Gary M. Felton, on June 27, 1964. He survives. Mrs. Felton taught for 32 years at Mississinewa Community Schools, where she was well known for being "the teacher who hatched baby chicks". She was the four-time recipient of the "Who's Who Among Teachers Who Made a Difference" Award. She was a dedicated teacher and loved her Mississinewa kids. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and spending time with her grandchildren. s preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jere Truex. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones-Smith Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 259 N. Main St., Upland, Indiana, where a visitation will be held from 1-2 pm, Saturday, December 26, 2020. The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Jefferson Cemetery, Upland. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, please wear a mask and social distance when attending the services.
