Martha Jones Behrens

Martha Jones Behrens, 80, of Ames passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at Northridge Village in Ames, IA. Martha was born in Spencer, Iowa to M. Dale and Katherine (Thomas) Jones on March 23, 1945. Martha spent her early years in Dickens, Iowa growing up on the farm. She was a graduate of Terril Community High School with the class of 1963 and attended Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD following her graduation. Martha retired from Iowa State University after many years of working in the Agriculture Science department as an office manager. In her free time, Martha could be found whipping up tasty treats in her kitchen, more often than not cookies that were one (or two) short of a full dozen because you had to taste test them before serving. Martha loved to travel, visiting family across the country. Music brought joy to her life, whether hymns or Elvis, it always made her smile. She was one of the strongest people you would ever meet, never complaining about what was ailing her but always asking about you instead.
