Curtiss Melvin "Curt" Thiede, age 60, of Deerbrook, WI, lost his battle to cancer on February 22, 2025 in his home surrounded by family. Curt was born in Milwaukee on March 13, 1964 to Melvin and Betty Thiede. His parents inspired his love for the outdoors, especially snowmobiling and ATVing. In his teenage years, he would always be found with tools in his hands, working under the hood of his many, many cars. He would reminisce about those cars for hours and we never tired of the stories. Curt attended Menomonee Falls High School where he met his future wife, Penny (Heuser). In their younger years, Curt and Penny enjoyed fishing and camping together. They married on August 8, 1987 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Menomonee Falls. Shortly after, Curt and Penny became parents to their first daughter, Stephanie, in 1989, and then had their second daughter, Nicole, in 1994. Curt was a Pressman at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel for 27 years. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family and we will forever be grateful for that. t man could do it, from building a house to fixing a vehicle. Curt was a kid at heart and will always be remembered for his quick wit. One glance and you could tell he was up to no good! He has given us so many fun, playful memories to cherish. We could not have asked for a better father and spouse. Curt will be missed everyday and live on in the hearts of those who loved him. Curt was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Thiede and Betty Thiede (Mills), and is survived by his spouse, Penny Thiede (Heuser); his children, Stephanie Thiede and Nicole Schultz (Thiede) and her husband, Daniel; brother, Brian Thiede and his wife, Jen; sister, Lori Schubring (Thiede) and her husband Rocky. Per Curt's wishes, there will not be a service. A private celebration of life will take place at a later date.
