Michael Peter Wenzel

Michael Peter Wenzel, 56, died after a one-year courageous battle with oral cancer on Saturday, May 28, 2011 with his family and close friends at his side.

Michael was born on April 28, 1955 in Park Ridge, IL to Peter and Patricia (Dorband) Wenzel. Upon graduating from Saint Viator High School in Arlington Heights, IL, Michael furthered his education at St. Mary's University in Winona where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Michael is survived by his mother, Patricia Wenzel of Arlington Heights, IL; one sister, Carol (Jeff) Martini of Arlington Heights; five brothers, Gary (Victoria) of New York City, Greg (Lynn) of Naperville, IL, Tom (Karen) of Arlington Heights, David (Ruth) of Aurora, IL, John (Margie) of Arlington Heights; eighteen nieces and nephews, and two great nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Peter Wenzel. In addition to his family, Michael will be greatly missed by many friends whose dedicated friendship helped him through this difficult year.

A memorial celebration of Mike's life will be held on Saturday, June 11, starting at 4:00pm at Lake Village Clubhouse, 27 Michigan Lane, Goodview, MN 55987. Services will also ...[more]
