Zatha Marie Loehr

Zatha Loehr, 100, of Fort Dodge peacefully joined her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Villa Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Fort Dodge followed by burial in the Paton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Zatha was born on June 13, 1914 in Paton, IA to John and Mabel (Bauer) Bradshaw. At five years of age, she and her parents relocated to a farm near Dana, IA. Zatha attended Hardin #1 country school through eighth grade and graduated from Dana Consolidated High School in 1932. On January 1, 1937, Zatha was united in marriage to Donald W. Megill at her parents' home near Grand Junction, IA. They made their home in Greene County until moving to Fort Dodge in 1941. Zatha was employed by the Boston Store and as a receptionist for Dr. George Ott, Dr. Howard Inbody, Dr. Paul Sears, and Town & Country Realty. She then worked as a reflexologist until retiring. atha accepted Jesus as her Savior and Lord of her life. She was a faithful and active member of First Baptist Church in Fort Dodge for many years. Zatha enjoyed keeping busy as a homemaker and tending to her large flower and vegetable gardens. She loved her family very much and was there for them when they had a need. Zatha was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands Donald Megill and Edward Loehr, and three brothers Varnal, Dallas, and Oris Bradshaw. She is survived by her sister Opal Elmore of Fort Dodge, several nephews and nieces, step-son, step-daughters, several step-grandchildren, extended family, and many friends.
